Lesson 5 – The Economy of God

1Timothy 1:4 Nor to give heed to myths and unending genealogies, which produce questionings rather than God’s economy, which is in faith.

Eph. 3:9-11 And to enlighten all that they may see what the economy of the mystery is, which throughout the ages has been hidden in God, who created all things, in order that now to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenlies the multifarious wisdom of God might be made known through the church, according to the eternal purpose which He made in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  1. The definition of God’s Economy
    1. This word refers to a household administration and management; it implies a plan.
    2. God’s divine dispensation, (plan)
  2. God’s New Testament Economy
    1. A plan made by God according to His good pleasure 1
    2. An eternal plan God made in Christ 2
  3. God dispensing Himself into His chosen people in His Trinity. (This dispensing has three steps):
    1. It is of God the Father, who is the source, the origin 3
    2. This dispensing is through God the Son, who is the course 4
    3. God’s dispensing is in God the Spirit, who is the instrument and sphere 5
  4. For the producing of the church:
    1. For the producing of the church as the kingdom of God 6, 7, 8
